Contract Period
Vuosisähkö is fixed-term and can be valid for 6, 12, 18, or 24 months, depending on your selection. The agreed duration is specified in the contract confirmation. After the fixed term ends, you may continue with a new fixed-term contract or choose another product. If no changes are made by the end of the contract period, the contract will automatically continue as an open-ended agreement in accordance with the current base price list.
Vuosisähkö 48 kk begins as a fixed-term agreement. After the first two years, the contract becomes open-ended for the customer but remains binding for Lumme Energia. During the final two years, consumer customers may change the contract type or pricing by contacting Lumme Energia’s customer service.
General Terms
This agreement covers the supply of electricity (energy portion). In addition to these terms, the currently valid Electricity Sales Terms (SME 2024) and service price lists apply. Printable versions are available at www.lumme-energia.fi/ehdot-palveluhinnastot. If your contact information, billing address, or metering point changes, please notify us via the OmaLumme service or customer service.
Changes in VAT or other tax-like charges during the contract period will be directly reflected in the prices.
Before the agreement takes effect, Lumme Energia will check the customer's credit information via the Suomen Asiakastieto credit register. Lumme Energia reserves the right to refuse a contract based on a payment default entry or another valid reason.
Any objections to the contract confirmation must be submitted within three (3) weeks of its dispatch.
Lumme Energia will automatically notify the local electricity network company of the sales contract, and the electricity distribution agreement for the metering point will be transferred to the customer’s name. For faults or interruptions in electricity distribution, please contact your local electricity network company directly.
Contract confirmations, price and terms change notifications, and other messages from Lumme Energia will primarily be sent via email, or via SMS if necessary. You may switch to paper mail free of charge via OmaLumme or customer service. Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance for consumers, and 14 days for businesses.
If there are discrepancies between the Finnish and English versions of these terms, the Finnish version shall prevail.
Termination and Moving
Customers have the right to terminate a fixed-term sales contract with two weeks’ notice if the metering point changes (e.g. due to relocation). At the seller’s request, the customer must provide proof of the move. Open-ended contracts have a two-week notice period.
If a fixed-term contract ends prematurely for reasons attributable to the customer (other than those defined in SME 2024, sections 10.2.1–10.2.5), Lumme Energia has the right to charge an early termination fee. This fee is based on direct financial losses incurred by Lumme Energia. It is calculated as the difference between the agreed energy price and the current price of a comparable contract at the time of termination, multiplied by the forecasted consumption for the remaining contract period. Lumme Energia reserves the right to charge any resulting negative value from the customer.
If the customer makes no changes after the fixed-term period ends, the contract will continue as an open-ended contract under the base price list in effect at that time.
Billing
Billing is based on actual consumption in remotely read metering points, or on annual estimates received from the local electricity network company in other cases. For hourly metered points, no estimated bills are sent—only bills based on verified readings. Equalized billing (fixed monthly payments) is not available.
For hourly metered contracts, time-based billing follows Finland’s national dual-rate distribution schedule:
- Night Electricity:
- Daytime energy: Mon–Sun 07:00–22:00
- Night energy: Mon–Sun 22:00–07:00
- Seasonal Electricity:
- Winter weekday energy: Nov 1 – Mar 31, Mon–Sat 07:00–22:00
- All other times are billed as off-season energy
For Consumer Customers Only
Consumers have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of its conclusion. Cancellation can be made by phone, email, or using the cancellation form (available at www.lumme-energia.fi/sopimuksen-peruutus). If cancelling via form, it must be submitted before the end of the cancellation period. Contracts made in person (not via distance selling) are not subject to cancellation rights (Consumer Protection Act, Chapter 6, Sections 13–15).
If the customer has requested delivery of electricity before the cancellation period ends and has used electricity during that time, they must pay for the electricity consumed at the agreed price.
For Business Customers Only
Business contracts do not include a cancellation right.
