Frequently asked questions about price protection and billing
What does the price protection feature cost?
Nothing! The price protection feature is included in our spot electricity contracts – at no additional cost.
Can I activate price protection in the middle of a quarter?
Price protection can be applied either to full calendar quarters or to the remaining months of the current quarter.
You can activate price protection before the beginning of each quarter.
The quarterly periods for our Spot Electricity with price protection are:
January 1 – March 31,
April 1 – June 30,
July 1 – September 30, and
October 1 – December 31.
What if the spot price doesn’t rise during the price protection period?
Electricity prices can be difficult to predict. It is not possible to cancel or reverse a price protection, so if you prefer, you can choose to protect only 50% of your electricity consumption.
Even during a fixed-price period, you can still lower your electricity bill by shifting your consumption to hours when the spot price is below the monthly average.
Is VAT included in the contract price?
Yes, our spot electricity contract prices include 25.5% value-added tax (VAT).
When will I receive my invoice and what is the due date?
You will receive your electricity invoice every one or two months, depending on your annual consumption.
Annual consumption / Number of invoices per year
– Less than 12,000 kWh → 6 invoices per year
– More than 12,000 kWh → 12 invoices per year
It is always possible to request monthly billing. Please note that some contracts—such as the Tunti Lumme agreement—require monthly invoicing.
The due date for your electricity bill is 14 days from the invoice date. The due date will always fall on the same time of the month, depending on your billing cycle (monthly or every two months).
